Save Money with Compatible Toner Cartridges

Everyone knows that purchasing a compatible product is always cheaper than buying from the original manufacturer (OEM). In the office supplies world the battle between remanufactured, OEM and compatible is in full force and unfortunately, the collateral damage is typically the customer’s wallet. There are simply too many terms and far too much ambiguity in the origins of remanufactured and compatible products in the eyes of the customer. They do not know who to trust and what to believe anymore. However, purchasing compatible toner cartridges is not as scary as you may think it to be. One myth to debunk is that compatible toner will void your printer’s warranty, which is simply not the case. The other point is to demonstrate the huge savings a customer could be experiencing by switching to compatible toner cartridges.

Installing a compatible toner cartridge will not void your printer’s warranty; just look at the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act for the proof. Moreover, many of the retailers will offer guarantees on the compatible products they are selling. In fact, if a retailer is not offering a guarantee, you may want to move on!

Consider this fact. You need your office printer (on average) to print 2,000 pages per month, that is 24,000 pages per year. Now let us assume that your printer uses the HP 12a toner cartridge, which has a 2,000-page yield, meaning that it can print up to 2,000 pages before a replacement is required. In order to fulfill your printing needs for the year you would need to purchase twelve HP 12a toner cartridges. Now if you were going to purchase the OEM this would set you back at least $1,200 for the year ($100 per HP 12a toner cartridge x 12 replacements) depending on where the toner was purchased. That is no small investment!

Now consider the alternative in compatibles. First off, you could save up to 70% by purchasing compatible HP toner cartridges from a reputable online retailer. This can save you over $800 on your yearly printing costs (just imagine if you had multiple office printers to purchase toner cartridges for…). Saving money, is one thing but what if your printer is damaged in the process? Well looking for premium quality compatible toner cartridges and avoiding toner titled “remanufactured” should be a high priority of your comparison-shopping. Premium quality compatible toner cartridges are typically new toner cartridges manufactured by a third party. Remanufactured toner cartridges on the other hand are previously used toner cartridges re-purposed and re-sold back to the consumers. There is no risk using the premium quality compatible toner cartridges as third party manufactures design and build their new cartridges with the same standards and to the same specifications as the original manufacturers.

Start saving some green when purchasing your toner cartridges and printer supplies just remember to look for premium quality compatible products and review the product guarantees being offered!
