HP 2840 Printer Review

With a high page capacity and fast print speeds, the HP 2840 is a compact and powerful printer that can easily meet the needs of a medium sized office. This color laser printer can print in both black and white and color through the use of four HP 2840 toner cartridges. These HP 2840 toner cartridges are available in black, magenta, yellow and cyan, and are each designed to print a high volume of pages while still producing high quality images and text. The black toner cartridge that is available for this printer can print as much as 5000 sheets, while the color toner cartridges in yellow, cyan, and magenta are each capable of printing 4000 pages. This printer can print at a speed of 20 pages per minute when printing in monochrome, and 4 pages per minute for full color images and text, with a first page out time of 18 seconds for monochrome and 29 seconds for color. The integrated copier is capable of producing copies at a rate of 20 pages per minute for black and white and 4 pages for full color. In addition to high print speeds, the HP 2840 boasts a monthly duty cycle of as much as 30,000 pages.

This printer measures only 19.6 inches wide, 20.9 inches deep and 22.6 inches high and can support 375 pages standard, split between a 125 sheet tray and a 250 sheet tray, making it capable of handling even large print jobs, while still remaining compact and easy to incorporate into an office. This printer is powered by a 264 MB processor and comes with 96 MB of memory installed, and the option to increase the memory to 224 MB. For connectivity, this printer needs a high speed USB cable and a wired Ethernet connection. This printer is compatible with Windows Vista, Windows XP, Windows 2000/NT, Mac OS 9.2 and Mac OS X 10.2 and above.

The HP 2840 has a monthly duty cycle of 30,000 pages, and can print with a maximum resolution of 600 dpi by 600 dpi.
