HP 2840 Printer Review

The HP 2840 is a multifunction color laser printer that combines the functionality of a color printer, copier, scanner, and fax machine in one compact package. This printer has a maximum monthly duty cycle of 30,000 pages, making it more than capable of handling the workload of a medium sized office or business. The HP 2840 measures only 19.6 inches wide, 20.9 inches deep and 22.6 inches high, making it compact enough to incorporate into almost any office while still producing excellent quality prints. The HP 2840, in addition to providing fast, high quality prints, also serves as a fully functional scanner, copier, and fax machine.
This printer utilized a high speed USB cable for connectivity that should be purchased separately from an online retailer or an office or computer supply store. The HP 2840 comes equipped with a super G3 V.34 fax modem that can transmit at a speed of 3 seconds per page and is network capable through an Ethernet connection. This printer is compatible with many major operating systems, including Windows XP/2000/NT 4.0, Mac OS 9.2.2, Mac OS X 10.2.8 and Mac OS X 10.3.X. This printer is also certified for Windows Vista.

The copier function of the HP 2840 copies at a rate of 20 pages per minute for monochrome prints and 4 pages per minute for color, with a print and copy resolution of 600 dpi by 600 dpi. The HP 2840 comes with 96 MB of memory installed, and can be upgraded to hold as much as 224 MB of memory. This printer is powered by a 264 MHz processor.
